Halloween 2019: The Best London has to Offer

Between the hoods of the cold cars run children in costumes. On this dark Halloween night there is only weak moonlight and the aging lampposts for illumination. The warmth of the summer left a fortnight ago but it is only tonight for the first time since last winter that I can feel the frigid concrete through the soles of my shoes.

Dust off your witch’s hat, rinse those vampire fangs and start honing your prosthetic-application skills, as this year London’s got one hell of a party line up. If you’re not big on the Halloween scene, make sure you at least squeeze in a good firework display, or find some other way to enjoy this magnificent season in London.

Cheesy party specialists Club de Fromage throw a Zombie Apocalypse party at the Islington Academy on the 26th of October. There's one room of petrifying pop, and another of indie music, plus confetti cannons, a balloon drop and a fancy dress competition.

Head down into Queen of Hoxton's for the Donald Trump Dungeon of Dirty Delights where all manner of treats awaits scheduled on the October 26; arm massages, neon face painting and the terrifying Misfortune Teller. Look out for trashy celebs lurking with a pack of playing cards – draw a Joker and win free shots. Dress for the end of the world….

Speakeasy Barts turns into a ‘spookeasy’ for a murder mystery evening on October 30. Be transported back to 1920s Chicago to solve a tragic murder. Meet a series of suspicious suspects, and put your detective skills to the test - analysing everything from the scene and the characters, to their motives and alibis.

Major celebrations kick off at The Prince, Pergola Olympia, Pergola Paddington and Lost in Brixton, with a Halloween Weekender at all four venues.

Dress up for an evening of drinks and live DJs, with a special toffee apple sour cocktail available all weekend, and food traders at each venue serving up their dishes with a Halloween twist. Fancy dress is encouraged all weekend and compulsory on Saturday night.  This event kicks off on 31 October till 2 November.

Back for its sixth Halloween extravaganza, Twisted Circus takes over The Grand this November 1st for a stunning show of spooky performances and jaw-dropping acts. Alongside their eye-watering feats of daring, they'll have some awesome DJs on hand to keep the party energy high until 3am.
