Father's Day

Want to take Dad somewhere special on Father’s Day?  London has the answer.  There is just so much from which to choose, you will be spoilt for choice.

How about a dramatic James Bond style speedboat ride along the Thames or tackling the rapids on an inflatable raft at the Lee Valley White Water Centre? You could even take him snorkeling among the sharks at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium or climbing onto the roof of the 02 Arena.  It will certainly create incredible memories!

Or you could treat him to a trip behind the scenes to discover how his favorite drink is made.  London is home to countless breweries and distilleries, most of which offer fascinating tours as well as guided tastings! It is a great way to experiment and discover new drinks.  Worth considering are Fullers Griffin Brewery down in Chiswick or the Old Truman Brewery in the East End. The Beefeater Distillery tour is reckoned by many to be one of the most amazing gin experiences in London. It certainly has a long history to tell, as the origins of this famous Gin date back to 1829. Book your stay at Hotel Edward Paddington London if you are looking forward to surprising your Dad with countless happenings in the city.

If sport is your Dad’s preference, then it you may want to take a look at what is on offer at some of London’s premium stadiums.  It is possible to book tours of iconic venues like Wembley, Arsenal, Twickenham and Lords cricket ground.  These tours cover the history of the venue, go behind the scenes to visit areas not normally open to the public such as being able to step out onto the historic turf of Wembley or Lords. Search for budget hotels near Paddington Station UK, due to its close proximity to major tourist attractions in the city.

Perhaps you are thinking about taking all the family for a day out to celebrate? Look for a location that has something to offer for everyone, so as to avoid any problems with boredom spoiling your father’s special day.  Good options include the London Postal Museum with its very unusual underground railway, or exploring the buses held in the London Transport Museum at Covent Garden.  The Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford is guaranteed to capture everyone’s attention, from the sheer scale of props to discovering the secrets of broomstick flight (perhaps Dad might like to have a go!) but if this destination is your choice, then remember to book up early.  There is only a limited range of tickets and timed entry throughout the day and turning up only to find no space available would mar your day.

Think ahead, and plan for a very memorable Father’s Day exploring some of the delights of London.  You will not regret it!
